7. Apply a coat of base color
Decide on what nail color you want to use as your base color. It should provide contrast for the flower design that you will add later. You can use dark blue, black, dark pink, red, white or any color that will contrast with the design. Alternatively, maybe you could follow the color combinations from the pattern that you want to follow. Apply the color carefully all over your nail to ensure a smooth application. Allow the base color to cure for at least two minutes.
