6. Balyage
Balyage, for those of you not familiar with this hair color technique, actually refers to a technique in highlighting. Rather than using the foil technique, which requires precision, the balyage sweeps color onto hair using a paddle. It gives the colorist a lot more freedom to place color where due. What you need to know about balyage is that it’s not just for blondes, contrary to common belief, but also for redheads, brunettes, and even on graying hair.
