4. Applying hair color to hair sections
One of the easiest ways to have a two-toned effect on your hair is to divide it first into to parts, horizontally. You may use the top of your ears for reference. Color the top portion first and then wrap with a plastic wrap or shower cap. Color the bottom half, wrap it as well and then let it stay for several minutes. Rinse the bottom half first before the top portion. Make sure that you are using a pair of gloves when coloring your hair and an application brush. The goal in this process is to not let both colors touch.
